Blue Ivy Carter made her Met Gala debut at the 2026 Met Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday. The teenager walked the red carpet with her father, Jay-Z, and her mother, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, who was making her return to the gala after 10 years.

The 14-year-old wore a custom di Pesta bubble gown and jacket in white with one of Jimmy Choo’s Cinderella-inspired shoes. She opted for the British footwear brand’s Alia pumps, which have a heel measuring 3.3 inches. The crystal-covered pumps retail for $4,900, and are layered from toe to heel in luxurious crystals. The style features a classic pointy toe silhouette and a dramatic spike heel, and are completed with a hand embroidered crystal cluster on the vamp.

The “Halo” singer wore a custom design by Olivier Rousteing, and was styled by Ty Hunter for the event. The Grammy winner wore a sheer gown with crystal embellishments that were shaped like a skeleton on her frame, leaning into the “Fashion Is Art” theme of the event. She paired the dress with a lofty, custom pair of Amina Muaddi nude Yigit heels, which retail for around $1,200 in black.
The designer pumps are made from a lustrous satin in a tan nude shade. The shoes are a 150mm Triangle Plateau Heel, which are structured with a sharp pointed toe and a slim ankle strap. The Yigit heels have a hefty platform at the front to balance out the six-inch heel, which is a preferred shoe style for Knowles-Carter. Beyoncé’s Met Gala history is among the most celebrated in the event’s modern history, spanning a debut in 2008 and a run of appearances in the 2010s.
The 2026 Met Gala also marked Jay-Z’s first-ever appearance at the event. The Brooklyn rapper was outfitted in custom Louis Vuitton, wearing a black wool peak lapel tailcoat with matching trousers, a black wool double-breasted waistcoat, white cotton poplin shirt, white flower brooch and black patent leather LV Premiere Oxfords.
Beyoncé, who was back for the first time in a decade, served as a co-chair of the event, alongside Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour.

This year’s exhibition, “Costume Art,” celebrated fashion as an art form, with a dress code of “Fashion Is Art.” The event was co-chaired by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour, with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos serving as honorary chairs. The annual benefit raises funds for the Met’s Costume Institute.
