A$AP Rocky received a special gift from Chanel creative director Matthieu Blazy, which he showed off at the brand’s resort 2027 show in Biarritz, France, on Tuesday: a pink bag with a pair of matching ballet flats attached, which he will give to the newest member of his family.

Speaking on his Chanel flap bag and matching shoes at the coastal event, the musician and designer told WWD, “It’s a gift from Matthieu, he’s so thoughtful. And he actually had a pregnant woman on the runway. And I’ve seen other models walking around with bags and they had different colored ballerina shoes on it, so I’m gonna give these to my daughter [Rocki]. Thank you, Matthieu.”
Indeed, a pregnant woman walked the runway for the cruise collection show, holding a black purse with little cap-toe ballet flats adorning the bag. The bag-and-mini footwear combo is a fitting gift for A$AP Rocky; he and his partner Rihanna welcomed Rocki Irish, their third child and first daughter, into the world in September. The Fenty founder and her now 7-month-old baby recently graced the cover of W Magazine — Rocki’s first magazine cover — which Rocky told WWD was “quite something” and “cute overload.”

When asked if he was one of the first men to embrace Chanel, Rocky said, “Perhaps. I’m a radical human being. I have no limits and limitations, boundaries. I just, I go for it. Anything creative, that’s just right up my alley. So for me, I’m always playing with diversifying, or just doing things that aren’t really traditional, the norm for men.”
On that note, the multihyphenate is a fan of ballet shoes himself; he sparked conversation when he wore red patent leather mary jane style shoes with a double strap design and block heel, a limited-edition style made in collaboration between his brand AWGE and Christian Louboutin.
A$AP Rocky also discussed the tour he’s about to embark on and how he’s getting ready for it.
He said, “First you gotta mentally prepare for it, then you physically prepare for it, then you sonically and creatively prepare for it.” He revealed he is currently in the mental phase.
