Zoë Kravitz brought her longtime partnership with Saint Laurent to the 2026 Met Gala red carpet on Monday, wearing an outfit designed by the brand’s creative director, Anthony Vaccarello.
Kravitz’s look was a full-length black lace gown with long sleeves and a scalloped sweetheart neckline. The bodice was structured and nearly opaque, while the full skirt became increasingly sheer toward the hem. The silhouette has a distinctly historical quality, somewhere between Victorian and haute couture. Green stone drop earrings and a large ivory sculptural ring provide the only color against the all-black look.

Kravitz served as a cochair of the 2026 Met Gala host committee alongside Anthony Vaccarello, the Saint Laurent creative director who has dressed her at several previous galas. The role brought Kravitz back to the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art after a four-year absence — she had last attended in 2021, when she wore a sheer, bejeweled mesh Saint Laurent gown that became one of the most discussed looks of that evening.

Kravitz first attended the Met Gala in 2008 at age 19 and has built one of the most consistent and closely watched Met Gala fashion records of her generation, attending in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021. Her looks have included an Oscar de la Renta pink gown in 2017 and a series of increasingly sheer Saint Laurent designs in 2018, 2019 and 2021.

The 2026 Met Gala took place on Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year’s exhibition, “Costume Art,” celebrated fashion as an art form, with a dress code of “Fashion Is Art.” The event was co-chaired by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour, with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos serving as honorary chairs. The annual benefit raises funds for the Met’s Costume Institute.
