Teyana Taylor made her grand entrance at the 2026 Met Gala on Monday in New York City wearing a head-to-toe silver Tom Ford look including statement platform sandals.

Taylor grounded her ensemble with a pair of T-strap metallic heels from the luxury brand. The silhouette featured a rounded toe elevated by a platform and a tall block heel in addition to a T-strap design bringing in a retro aesthetic. The shining footwear accompanied a custom dress by Haider Ackermann with an all-over fringe design which offered Taylor’s look a great deal of swishy movement. The garment featured long sleeves, a hood and a slight train.

The Golden Globe winner and new Revlon ambassador has become a regular attendee at the Met Gala in recent years, following her debut at the event in 2021. This year, she’s a member of the host committee alongside Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Sam Smith, Elizabeth Debicki, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, A’ja Wilson and Lisa.

Last year, Taylor wore a custom pinstriped suit look by Ruth E. Carter which was rounded out by a bespoke version of Marc Jacobs‘ signature Kiki boot. In 2024, she wore a red gown by The Blonds with gold Bottega Veneta sandals. 2023 brought a tweed Thom Browne look with hip cut outs while in 2022 the multi-hyphenate artist went with a purple Iris van Herpen dress with futuristic flair. For her Met Gala debut, Taylor wore a silvery Prabal Gurung dress which revealed her abdomen and featured a long train.
The 2026 Met Gala took place on Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year’s exhibition, “Costume Art,” celebrated fashion as an art form, with a dress code of “Fashion Is Art.” The event was cochaired by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour, with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez-Bezos serving as honorary chairs. The annual benefit raises funds for the Met’s Costume Institute.
