Katy Perry Hid Her Face Behind a Silver Mask for the Met Gala 2026

Katy Perry arrived on the Met Gala 2026 red carpet in a white off-the-shoulder Stella McCartney gown with long white opera gloves, her face entirely obscured by a sculptural silver mirrored mask framed in white mesh.

The “Fireworks” singer further epitomized the theme with straight hair. While the artists behind her look have yet to be credited, she’s recently collaborated with celebrity hair architect Andrew Ly and Los Angeles-based makeup visionary Chloe Forbes.

Perry was one of the first attendees to make bold, theatrical beauty a tradition at the Met Gala. At “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” in 2016, she moved beyond universal red carpet beauty to don an intergalactic aesthetic instead. Comprised of blue mascara, bleached brows, blue liner in her waterline and charcoal matte lips, the “Fireworks” singer’s glam was courtesy of her Katy Kat collection with Covergirl at the time.

The 2026 Met Gala took place on Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year’s exhibition, “Costume Art,” celebrated fashion as an art form, with a dress code of “Fashion Is Art.” The event was co-chaired by Beyonce Knowles-Carter, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour, with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos serving as honorary chairs. The annual benefit raises funds for the Met’s Costume Institute.
