Gia Giudice is praising her “really amazing” sister Milania Giudice for opening up about her struggles with multiple mental health disorders.
“We’ve been going through things, and I just want to say that I’m incredibly proud of my sister Milania,” Gia, 25, told Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” while promoting her new restaurant, Il Vero in Westwood, New Jersey.
In an Instagram video posted Monday, Milania, 20, revealed she is bipolar, sharing that she also struggles with “depression, anxiety, PTSD and ADHD.”
“I am not ashamed of any of my mental health disorders and I do work on myself,” she said, noting that she is currently seeking help in a treatment center.
Milania also said the last few months hit her “like a bus.”
The daughter of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice was arrested in May for domestic violence after allegedly punching someone in her family home. She was charged with one count of simple assault following the dispute and forced to enroll in anger management classes.
In July, Milania’s childhood best friend, Victoria Zardoya, died from a tragic fall while exploring the ruins of Fort Dade in Tampa, Florida.
“It’s really hard being in the public light while going through things in life, so I just want to say I’m sorry because I was [raised] on pure respect, love, and I just haven’t been showing the Milania I wanna show,” Milania said in her Instagram video.
The University of Tampa student most recently made headlines over a video she posted and deleted of an airport altercation with Teresa and Gia.
In police body cam footage obtained by Page Six, Teresa speculates that Milania may have fentanyl in her system, while Milania compares herself to Britney Spears, who was placed under a conservatorship by her family.
Milania’s father, Joe Giudice, told Page Six in a statement that his daughter had been struggling with the loss of her best friend and the pressures of growing up in the public eye.
“Milania is a good girl. She has a big heart, she loves deeply, and she cares enormously about the people in her life,” Joe said. “She is also young and going through a very difficult period right now.”
Joe has been legally barred from entering the United States ever since he served more than three years in federal prison for fraud charges.
Gia — who has been advocating for a presidential pardon for her father — told “Virtual Reali-Tea” that having Joe back in the United States would be “healing” for their family, especially in light of Milania’s struggles.
The “Next Gen NYC” star and her mother were invited to the White House by President Trump and the First Lady last weekend to celebrate Italian-American heritage for Columbus Day.
Gia said they attended the event to “explore” options for her dad.
“It was a very amazing trip,” Gia said. “It was truly inspiring, and I think it just gave me more motivation to want to fight even harder to get my dad back.”
“Respectfully, I don’t care who is in office if somebody will listen and somebody will maybe grant my father [permission] to come back here in some capacity, whether it’s a visa or whether it’s a pardon,” she added, asking listeners to “pray for [their] family to be united again.”
