New York Fashion Week may have just wrapped, but our fashion analysis has only just begun. The runways may forecast the trends to come, but we’d argue the street style scene is just as—if not more—important in setting the sartorial tone for the season ahead. There are always a few It items that outshine the rest—you know, those pieces that are on the lips of every editor and seemingly included in almost every front-row look. For example, last NYFW was all about the spotted leopard-print coat (specifically: Arma’s tailored style).

This season is no different, with pops of royal purple, statement brooches, cummerbunds, silk scarves, and a hot-off-the-runway Conner Ives item leading the fall 2026 charge. The verdict is clear: Purposeful, personality-driven touches can help take even the simplest looks to new heights. As always, it’s all in the styling.
