3,000-year-old earrings and one-of-a-kind couture: Inside Zendaya’s priceless press tour wardrobe for ‘The Odyssey’

An epic movie deserves epic outfits. An epic movie deserves epic outfits.

Zendaya pulled out all the stops for the “Odyssey” press tour, from her custom, couture and vintage red carpet looks to her ethereal makeup.

The actress worked with longtime stylist Law Roach once again for the film’s promotional run, kicking things off in London with a Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown that was shipped via private jet from the runway to the red carpet on the very same day. She bookended the tour with an angelic, feathered look from Matières Fécales’ fall 2025 couture collection that featured oversized wings.

But we’re taking a closer look at her jewelry, which served as the perfect complement to her goddess-inspired looks that paid homage to her character, Athena.

In the UK, Zendaya paired a custom Jacquemus draped dress and headpiece with Glenn Spiro earrings set with gold medallion plaques that date back to circa 1st millennium BC. Accented with diamonds, the ancient accessories are owned by Barron London, which also provided the actress’ trio of rings for the event.

The artifacts are originally from Iran and were likely not originally worn as earrings, but rather as part of a larger decorative element, per archeologist Annelise Baer, who added that the sunburst or rosette design was very common in the ancient world.

In a follow-up video, Baer shared that the design reveals the gold medallions were meant to be a “high-status, decorative item” in their original context. Fans have criticized the choice to wear priceless artifacts on the red carpet, though neither Zendaya nor Roach have commented on the backlash.

For the London premiere, the “Euphoria” actress donned a Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress featuring a molded bustier in white glazed porcelain-effect silicone and a light-up fringed skirt mere hours after it debuted on the runway in Paris.

Exclusively available by special order and hand-sewn in Schiaparelli’s Parisian atelier, like all couture, the futuristic fashion creation would easily set a client back six figures.

To go with the one-of-a-kind gown, Zendaya layered on a Chopard bib necklace featuring a 12-carat diamond center stone and 76 carats of diamonds, along with diamond stud earrings.

She later slipped into a Valentino dress featuring leaves across the bust, paired with stunning Chopard diamond chandelier earrings dripping in nearly 27 carats of diamonds.

In Paris, Zendaya looked to the Eiffel Tower for inspiration, turning out another incredible fashion find. For a daytime photo call, she wore a vintage Givenchy Haute Couture dress and matching Philip Treacy headpiece from Alexander McQueen’s legendary debut 1997 collection for the house.

The look is an impressive bit of fashion history in its own right, and has a connection to Athena; this particular Givenchy collection, titled “The Search for the Golden Fleece,” was inspired by a Jason and the Argonauts Greek epic unrelated to “The Odyssey,” but that also features the goddess of wisdom.

Fope jewelry — three diamond-andgoldrings and matching earrings totaling more than $28,000, to be precise — completed this couture ensemble.

For the Paris premiere, she changed in a custom white Louis Vuitton gown and cape, sporting Messika’s stunning Miroir du Delta collar necklace featuring a 14-carat cushion-cut Tanzanite center stone. She added Messika diamond stud earrings and a pear-shaped ring to finish things off.

And for her grand finale in NYC, Zendaya forewent eye makeup in favor of an angelic look to match her winged Matières Fécales gown. The brand’s designers revealed on Instagram that Roach approached them almost two years ago and asked them to save the couture finale look for a future Zendaya project.

“We kept our promise and turned down so many great requests but knew this was the right fit for such an important creation in our archive. This moment is so special and we are so grateful to be part of Law and Zendaya’s fearless vision and legacy,” they wrote.

She added bling by way of Chopard drop earrings that included 16 carats of yellow diamonds and 20 carats of white diamonds in both pear and marquise cuts, plus a pear-shaped ring featuring a 10.8-carat yellow diamond.

The 166-year-old jewelry house makes bespoke and one-of-a-kind, museum-quality pieces worth millions, many of which are never offered up for sale.

And even if you were willing to pay couture prices, many of Zendaya’s “Odyssey” promo looks were designed especially and exclusively for her, putting them out of reach for even those with the deepest of pockets.

How’s that for epic?
