PARIS — The Dior Suite is returning to pamper international celebrities at the Cannes Film Festival this year.
Guests to the 79th edition will find, on the sixth floor of the Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic, a sweeping, 3,770-square-foot suite decorated to conjure up the atmosphere of a Riviera view, with shades of sky blue mixed with white. There are stripes, and a gallery of characters who seem to be attending a masked ball. The Dior Masquerade couture motif winks to the art of film costume design and gleaned inspiration from Christian Bérard’s illustrations for Christian Dior.
Celebrities to have already been pampered at the suite include house ambassadors Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron, Johnny Depp and Robert Pattinson. There have also been Camille Cottin, Raphaël Quenard and Carla Bruni, among others.
The stripes line the suite’s floors and walls, as well. The designer Christian Dior’s signature and wickerwork shells are among other adornments.
An old-time tent, replete with a vanity table and bench, stands in the center of the first reception room.
The main reception room is adorned with palm tree-shaped lamps, a white sofa and arm chairs, from which visitors can take in the sea view.
On the menu here are massages and flash facial treatments.
Dior beauty experts will be masterminding the services. Skin care expert and U.S. house ambassador Sarah Akram, who cocreated the Dior Spa New York’s Signature Haute Couture protocol, is to be in residence from Tuesday to May 15 to present the hourlong treatment.
Between May 15 and 16, Brice Tchaga, Dior grooming expert, is offering Sauvage Hair Care Rituals. He will ready for the red carpet Mamadou Sidibe, who is in “Memoire de Fille,” a film by Judith Godreche.
Dior global wellness expert facialist Hadda Akrim will give her signature protocol in a 20-minute format, called the Kobi-Dior treatment, created with the Dior Spa teams, at the suite between May 16 and 18.
Dior Backstage Pros, such as Norman Pohl, Jamie Coombes and Junior Cedeno, plus international makeup artists, including Aurore Gautier, Kristina Vidic and Ruby Manuel, will be doing looks in the makeup room. There is also a nail bar.
This is the third consecutive year the hairstyling will be done in partnership with Dyson Beauty. The brand’s ambassador and cabin lead Pierre Saint-Sever and his team will be creating bespoke looks.
Dior, as a longterm partner of La Terrasse by Albane, is creating a hair and makeup studio on the roof of the JW Marriott Hotel for film talents and celebrities to prep before interviews or photo shoots.
